We do not use bromated flour in any of our products. We use organic flours in our Artisan Organic Bread and all these products are certified organic by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Our Artisan Organic Breads have always been Non-GMO but were recently certified Non-GMO by The Non-GMO Product.

I love your bread! Purchased it at Costco and went back to get more and they are out and not getting more in. I had them look up other locations to see if I can go to another Costco and only Los Angeles county has stock and the item seems to be going away. Where in Orange County can you buy your bread?

Costco is the only place in Orange County where you can purchase our breads. They are probably in the process of switching from Rosemary to Sourdough Bake-At-Home. Be sure to fill out a customer comment card at your Costco location if you’d like continue to see the product available there. We will have our Bake-At-Home available for sale on our website soon as well.

That would be great if they are just switching to sourdough. I drove to Laguna Nigel store and they had 13 left so I purchased 4. Look forward to trying sourdough.

Oh good, glad that helped! I’ve been taking a slice at a time off a loaf this week, toasting it (longer than other slices), then putting the rest of the loaf in a zip bag and putting it in my fridge. It’s been great.

Good convenient product at a fair price; the Rosemary has been available in Arizona for a couple months at least. ..looking forward to finding the sourdough eventually.

Hi Mary, Costco decides which locations will carry specific products. You can make a request at your local store. I’ll look into this to see if there are plans to carry it there. Thanks for checking in.

Can you buy the loaf – slice it – freeze it – and just pop a piece or two in a regular toaster ? i.e. (not use a toaster oven) or does it actually have to be baked?

Absolutely! I sometimes just cut the loaf in half, bake half and put the other half in a zip-bag and freeze it. Other times, I just slice a few slices to toast in the toaster oven and put the rest in a zip-bag in the refrigerator or freeze the rest. This bread can be finished off not only in the oven but the toaster on your counter or your grill in your backyard! Give it a try and let us know how it works out, and if you come up with creative ideas of your own.

I bought the rosemary bread at Costco a few weeks ago. It said use or freeze by the 9/10/13. I hadn’t used it yet, so I popped it in the freezer a few days ago. How should I bake it now? Do i need to let it thaw out first?

If you think you won’t eat your Bake-At-Home by the date on the package, you can freeze the unopened package. If you open it and decide to just take a slice or two to put in your toaster, or you cut half the loaf to bake, you can freeze the unbaked portion for later as well. Pre-slicing and freezing it, then baking it in the toaster is great for “portion control” because you’re basically finishing it off a slice at a time. I’ve cut the whole think in half horizontally, made a pizza on half, and froze the other half to bake later.

This bread is FANTASTIC! (Yes, I’m shouting…it’s that good). Relatives visiting here from the Midwest are bummed that it isn’t available there. Think I’ll pick up a few packages at our local Costco for them to take home, since it lasts so long. It’s hot here, so I conveniently baked it in my toaster oven. Came out great! Good to watch the video and find out I need to position the bread upside down for slicing.

Thanks for writing Tacy! Great ideas to toast it in your toaster oven and to send some home with your relatives! You’ll have to try baking it on your BBQ/Grill! Simply wrap it in foil and bake on your grill or put on the top rack unwrapped even with the direct burner off while you grill the rest of your meal.

Just had the rosemary bake at home bread for the first time and am in love! We bought at Vancouver WA Costco; however, I just called them and they are out and checked with surrounding stores and they are out too. It is truly just a seasonal item? I want to send some to family in the Southeast too; if Costco is out, do I have to drive to Seattle to get some???

We currently don’t have plans to come to New York. You could try filling out a request form at your local Costco. We’ll continue to keep you updated on our availability at our website, blog, Facebook and Twitter.

Does it hurt the bread to be frozen? It says on the label you can freeze it, which we did, and now it doesn’t seem to be baking correctly.

The Rosemary bread at Costco doesn’t list YEAST under the ingredients which tells me there is no YEAST in this product. Is this correct? Patty Irish

      Kendra says:

Hi Patty- Thanks for your question. There is no added commercial yeast in many of our breads, including the Rosemary. Staying true to tradition,we leaven many of our breads with one (or more) of five natural starters that we cultivate (ferment) here in the bakery from flour and water. These starters are live cultures of complex microbiological systems, including yeasts and lactobacilli, which leaven and impart unique flavors to the bread. As far as labeling goes, these microbes are not an “ingredient”, and so do not need to be listed on the ingredient statement. Obviously the flour and water used in the starters are ingredients and are included in the ingredient statement. As far as various dietary limitations go, this has been a debate for many years- the thing to remember here is that the culture is totally killed in the oven- there is no live yeast or any other microbes in a baked loaf of bread. If dietary limitations are a concern, you can consult with your physician, and provide the information in this post.
