Saying Goodbye to our Wallingford Café

Dear Customers,

 

The Essential Baking Company has been a part of the Wallingford Neighborhood for most of our 26 years. In 1998, we moved to the old Buchan Bakery building on North 34th Street where we began our wholesale business and established our first bakery café. As we outgrew the original Wallingford location, the wholesale bakery production moved to a new location in the Georgetown neighborhood in south Seattle where it remains today and continues to prosper.

 

As we look at the future of The Essential Baking Company and balance the uncertain times of the restaurant industry in general, we have made the difficult decision to say goodbye to our Wallingford Café and focus on the wholesale side of our business. Most of the Wallingford Café staff have transitioned to the Georgetown location and will remain a part of The Essential Baking Company family.
