Our Gluten Free Bread Makes Its First Delivery
The arrival of our Seeded Gluten Free Breads has long been anticipated. After months of development and hours of taste testing (thanks to many of you who participated), we are proud to offer gluten free bread that provides a taste your whole family will love with the health benefits you desire. Our Gluten Free Sunny Seeded White, Super Seeded Multi-Grain, and Seeded Cinnamon Raisin breads are now available at PCC, Town and Country, Metropolitan Markets, Fred Meyer, QFC, Costco, as well as our very own Essential Baking Cafes and other fine stores and restaurants. We are so excited and we hope you are too.
Our Super Seeded Multi-Grain bread is packed with sunflower and flax seeds and Seeded Cinnamon Raisin has plenty of fresh raisins and swirls of cinnamon along with sunflower and flax seed. Both varieties are 80 calories and 4 grams of fiber a slice, making them a great choice. Sunny Seeded White is lighter in color, 90 calories and 2 grams of fiber a slice, and filled with just the right amount of sunflower seeds. Our gluten free bread is packaged using an innovative fresh-pack process, eliminating the need for preservatives and keeps the bread soft and moist.
All our gluten free breads are made in a dedicated wheat-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, peanut free, tree-nut free and kosher certified facility.
Unopened, our bread stays fresh in your pantry for months!” Once opened, store bread in a plastic bag or sealed container in your fridge or freezer. It will keep fresh in your fridge for up to 5 days or in your freezer for up to three months.
Let us know if you are seeing it out there when you’re shopping. We’ll keep you posted here on our blog, on Facebook and Twitter as we carry it in more stores. See also our latest blog post.
i had given up on finding a tasty GF bread.
My husband purchased a double loaf at our Costco
and despite my initial skepticism…I love your seedy bread.
Even after it has been opened for the second and third day, the bread remains tasty and moist.
Thank you! I love this bread!
Thank you Beth Lynn!
Love, love, love the GF seeded bread! Life changed after I found it at Costco! Two loaves and the stay fresh sealed pack…heaven!!! I just put the bread in a ziplock bag after opened and its fine. Nearly the best GF bread ever and love the fiber content too! No stomach issues after eating and healthy ingredients. Win/Win. Have you guys thought of becoming non-GMO verified? That’s a biggie these days and GMOs are being heavily linked to health issues. Keep up the great work and care for what you do. Much Love!
We recently found your seeded bread at Costco and absolutely love it! We have been looking for a bread without soy and corn, and with less carbs and preservative free AND still taste good….you have achieved it for sure.
My only concern is that your bread is irradiated for its long shelf life. I may still buy it but my family would like to know if it is. Thanks.
Hi Rose,
No, our bread is not irradiated nor does it go through any weird process to make it last longer. The only reason that our bread has a long shelf life is because it’s packaged in our oxygen free stay fresh package that, which is why sometimes people end up with a moldy loaf if a package gets handled to roughly and a hole or leak happens. Thanks for writing in!
Super Seeded Multigrain was delicious, with a ‘real bread’ texture, pleasant nutty flavor, slightly sweet… and a terrific value at Costco, way less than the usual $4/ loaf for other GF bread. Will try the other varieties, too. It’s probably worth getting a membership for this one item!
Thanks Peter! We’re glad you found us!
I am vey curious about the gluten free breads. I read that these breads are baked in facilities that are wheat free, which is crucially important to me. The question I have is: “Are these bread products wheat free?” While I understand that gluten free does not mean wheat free, because the gluten is removed from the wheat. So being that I cannot eat wheat period, my question pertains to the wheat and not the gluten itself. I have not found a tasty wheat free bread yet, which includes baking them myself, so your response will play a huge role in my purchasing decision.
Thank you,
Jeff Smith
All of our gluten free products are gluten and wheat free. They are made in a completely separate facility from our main bakery, where our wheat breads, pastries and desserts are made in. The facility where our gluten free products are made in is dedicated wheat, dairy, soy and nut free as well. Give our Super Seeded Multigrain a try first and let us know what you think.
The bread is the best I have tasted and I recommend it to everyone. The only thing that would make it perfect would be if you said it is non-GMO and organic. So I guess that is my question.
thanks
Thank you. Organic and Non-GMO is something we are very passionate about here. Yes, our bread is non-GMO. You’ll start to see the Non-GMO Project certification appear on some of our products. Our gluten free products are Non-GMO but aren’t yet Non-GMO Project certified but stay tuned.
We found your delicious GF bread at the Costco in Corona! It is so good and like all the comments I have read, changed my life! This last week we were at Costco and were told they will no longer be carrying it! Please tell me where we can purchase this wonderful bread? I will put in a comment card, but need bread now! God bless you and your associates who came up with this bread.
Oh no! I’m sorry about that! Definitely fill out a customer comment card. Costco is great about listening to their customers. We are in the tail end of developing a new website where you will be able to purchase our gluten free products there. We’ll keep you posted on our website, Facebook and Twitter.
Oops, just noticed you do sell through Fred Meyer, please disregard my prior request. Thank You Bob Jones
Recently stumbled on your gluten-free bread @ Costco in Roseburg, Oregon which is a two hour trip from where we live on the Coast. Do you have any outlets on the Southern/Central Oregon Coast? Thank You Bob Jones
Love the Super Seeded Multi-grain!! It is a bit sweeter than it needs to be–in my opinion–but it is the best that I’ve tried and I love it toasted with natural peanut butter! You have made a yummy bread that many with limitations can enjoy! Thanks!
Thanks Erin! Our other varieties will soon be available for purchase on our website. Super Seeded Multi-grain is AMAZING with natural peanut butter or Sunbutter and jelly!
While visiting my daughter in Missouri her Costco carried your multigrain bread…Bought a package home Long Island, New York ..That is the best Gluten agree bread I have had since I was Diagnosed with Celiac I felt like I was eating a real sandwich ..Went searching ,my Costcos and could not find ..Do you or do you haves my plans for the New York area..Thanks in advance Donna
Hi Donna, we’re so glad you were able to try our gluten free bread. Your local Costco would be your best bet. You can fill out a customer comment card and ask them if they have plans to order it. We are also launching a new website in the next few weeks that will make it so you can order any of our gluten free products on-line.
I live in Michigan and purchased your gf bread at Costco. It is absolutely the best gf bread ever! Even my non-gluten free eating husband loved the bread. I can’t find it at Costco anymore. Will it come back? Is there a way to buy it online or in a store in Michigan?
Hi Christina,
We LOVE hearing that you think our Gluten Free Bread is the best ever!! We think so too! Your Costco may have been out of stock. Your best bet is to ask them about it and fill out a customer comment card there asking for them to carry it again. We are hard at work on a new website as well where you will be able to purchase our gluten free products and have them delivered right to your door!
Just found your super seeded multigrain GF at Costco in Rockwall Texas & we love it. One question that was partially covered in your comments above….you list the source of your modified cellulose as “green plants”. Can you be more specific? As organic farmers and bakers, we appreciate the need for product stability, and are not afraid of eating plants, but would like to know exactly what we are eating. Thanks!!!
Thanks Vicki! I’ll find out more specifics and will get right back to you.
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I AM IN LOVE!!!! Thank you doesn’t seem enough! I appreciate all who created this wonderful bread.
I even made a grilled cheese for my friends when they came over for lunch they saw me take a bite of this bread and they said. Wait! you can’t eat regular bread! I said this is gluten free. They couldn’t believe it!!
God bless your company
Sincerely Michelle G
Thank YOU for your enthusiasm and letting us know what you think!
Found your GF Super Seeded Miltigrain bread at Costco in Michigan and it is hands down our favorite! Love the flavor and texture. Hope Costco gets the buns and rolls as we really miss having an occasional hamburger on a real bun. Love the long shelf life too.
Thank you Diane! We are working on developing an on-line store on our website where you’ll be able to purchase our rolls and buns on-line. You can also write a customer comment at your local Costco store requesting those specific products. Thanks for your support!
Is the super seeded multi-grain bread sold in Costco Non-GMO? Thank you!
Yes, Gluten Free Super Seeded Multi-grain is Non-GMO. All of our products are Non-GMO. Thank you!
My 7yo just found out she has a gluten intolerance this week. We’re brand new to trying to eat gluten free. We bought a loaf of Sara Lee’s white bread at the closest store for an emergency dinner and she had to fight to eat it. The next day we found your bread at a Gluten Free market here in Everett off Evergreen Way. I picked up a loaf of your super seeded bread and she loves it! I was worried about having to buy one of every brand after the first loaf. So glad she likes it! Do you have an outlet where we can buy more in bulk at a discount? That would totally make my day! Thank you for your great products! Looking forward to trying out more!
That is great news that she likes our gluten free bread. You can find it in a two pack at your nearest Costco location at a discounted price. Our stay-fresh packaging allows you to buy lots at a time. Thanks for writing in!
While walking through or Sacramento Costco the other day, my husband spotted your Super Seeded GF loaf and decided to buy it for me. I hadn’t ever heard of your company or products, and with the lackluster options, I was frankly not expecting much.
As I was getting ready to walk out the door to a sporting event,I realized my time was limited, but that there was enough time for toast… Let me go on record as saying that had there been more time, I’d have had at least 2 more slices! It was tasty, and I loved the seeds. It’s been so long since I’ve had bread that tastes like the gluten-full varieties.
Even better, my husband got all of the brownie points for finding it!
Yeah! We’re so glad you found us! Thank you to your husband from us as well!
Hi,
I have a wheat allergy but am not celiac. I saw your Superseeded Multi Grain Bread at our Costco. I live in the Southern CA. Can you tell me if your bread is wheat free? I don’t see it anywhere on the package. Thank you.
Our Gluten Free Super Seeded Multigrain is wheat free. Gluten is one particular protein that naturally occurs in all wheat, rye and barley products. Our gluten free products are made with a mixture of gluten and wheat free flours.
Outstanding bread. My wife needs to go GF and we are tired of whimpy loaves of over-price Udi’s bread. You offer better taste and value. I am a huge fan and appreciate your fine product.
Thank you David!
I have been doing low carb for years and today I saw your bread at Fremont, Ca Costco. I with only 10 net carbs for a nice sized thick piece of bread, I thought that was worth it. I came home and toasted it and had butter on it and it is very tasty. I will keeping your bread in my house for when I am craving a nice piece of toast!
It has a very nice flavor.
Thanks Linda! I’m glad you found our gluten free bread and appreciate the fact that contains 5 grams of fiber and 10 net carbs!
Great Gluten-free bread, at COSTCO & Whole Foods. I LUV it!
I buy at COSTCO and LUV it! Keep me posted on other breads, etc, that you come out with, OK?
Thanks Glenn! We will definitely keep you posted here on our website, Facebook and on Twitter.
I just wanted to drop these lines to express my gratitude to Essential Baking. I know the time and effort needed to put a new (and good) product in the market. All this gluten free thing is new for me and it was not a personal choice. Suddenly, I started to feel pain every time I ate gluten. I do not follow food trends. I love to eat and drink everything! Healthy, wholesome, organic, happily and “omnivorely”. 🙂 But when those weird pains started to happen in my body, I do not have any other choice other than listen to it. Now I need to rely in products like the one you created and I was happy happy happy when I saw it yesterday at Costco. I do not know if you know that: products like yours can REALLY change the life of the other people for better. 🙂 Thank you!
Your Seeded Multi Grain is very tasty, however I find it a bit too sweet for savory applications, that is true of most of the nationally available brands I’ve tried. The texture is superior as the loaf is not crumbly and dry like them, the seeds give the slice a pleasing bite. Please consider reducing the sugar. It is delicious toasted with eggs. French Toast is also a possibility I will be investigating shortly.
That said, I will be buying it again.
Thanks for getting it to Costco! Kat
Thanks for your feedback Kat. Definitely try it out for French Toast. We have a recipe on our Blog you can try. It’s great used in stuffing and bread pudding recipes as well!
Oh wow, this is by far the best-tasting bread I have eaten. It is so good! I can actually taste the goodness with zero preservatives. My wife threw away the wrapper and couldn’t remember where she’d picked it up. I was almost in tears (smile). Nevertheless, mad hunting through the internet and I found you guys. Now, where do I get some more? She thinks it was either COSTCO or Sam’s Club or Raley’s or Safeway, or really she doesn’t remember. Please tell me where I can find this in Sacramento, California?
We’re so glad you and your wife found our bread! Super Seeded Multigrain just became available at Costco locations in Northern California and are the only place you can find it in your state.
This is the best bread ever. I was going with out for so long. I tried a lot of other brand name and quit frankly threw them out. Then a visit to COSCO Bellingham I found LUV!!! I bought used and shared. I ran out and craved your bread, breakfast food, a sandwich etc. Your bread is so close to the real thing I could serve it to my friends and they would not know the diff. so I went out and bought ten loaves. I never want to run out again. You have priced it right I can afford it. Please come to Vancouver, BC PLEAZ!!! I am a sales person I would luv to help. you have made my diagnosis with Celiac disease bearable. Thank you!!!
My daughter and I have celiac and were sooo happy to find this bread at Costco on a vacation in Seattle. We live on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska and want to know how we can get this bread shipped up here? Do you sell in bulk to families like us if we place a big order?
Thanks!
We’re glad you found our gluten free bread Crystal! We are currently looking into options to allow you to order gluten free bread directly. Once we figure out our best option, we will let you know on our blog, Facebook and Twitter. I’m not sure how far away they are from you but our gluten free bread is available at Alaska Costco locations.
Hello, I live in Surrey BC, Canada and was just in Bellingham shopping at Costco and found your Super Seeded Multi Grain, a huge congradulations on this wonderful product. My daugher has been diagnoised with Celiacs so we are constantly looking for the perfect bread and I think we have found it. Do you sell it in Canada if so were and if not are you going to. I will gladly be a spokes person for you as this bread is amazing! The one thing that we miss is a french style loaf for making garlic bread do you do one like this?
Hello Marian, We’re glad you found us! We currently aren’t selling our bread in Canada yet. Keep your eyes out as we hope to make that happen at some point. I’ve passed along your request for some gluten free French style bread. Thanks for writing!
I am concerned about the high level of arsenic in many rice based gluten-free products. Can you please tell me where you source your rice and whether it’s been tested for arsenic? Thank you!
We have tested the rice flours we use over several years for arsenic. From
a food safety perspective, arsenic should be divided into organic arsenic
and inorganic arsenic. Organic arsenic contains carbon. It is not
considered a health threat because with few exceptions it is inactive as a
toxin. Inorganic arsenic does not contain carbon. Some types of
inorganic arsenic (not all types) are a health threat. Only recently has
technology been developed to differentiate between organic and inorganic arsenic.
Rice grown in flooded cotton fields often has high levels of arsenic
resulting from pesticides and herbicides used on cotton crops. This
arsenic is overwhelmingly organic arsenic and not a problem. The largest source of inorganic arsenic is volcanic. Steel smelters, iron smelters, etc., are also major sources of inorganic arsenic.
The rice we use comes from both Northern California and The Southern USA.
Northern California has volcanic soil and a high level of inorganic arsenic.
California also has very tough water quality regulations which keeps arsenic
at low levels in paddy rice. This counters the high levels of inorganic
arsenic in Northern California soil, resulting in low levels of inorganic arsenic.
Rice grown in The South usually has high levels of organic arsenic which does not present a health risk. Because The South has little volcanic soil it is low in inorganic arsenic.
The danger is from inorganic arsenic and rice grown in The USA is low in inorganic arsenic. The highest levels of inorganic arsenic are from Bangledesh and China because of volcanic soils and lack of water quality. Codex Alimentarius Commission.
Discussion Paper. April, 8-12, 2013.
ftp://ftp.fao.org/codex/meetings/cccf/cccf7/cf07_14e.pdf
Testing of hundreds of samples of rice based products by FDA shows very low
inorganic arsenic concentrations for USA made foods.

I’m not celiac, but just feel better eating no breads and do so only once a month or less. Sometimes Jet City Pizza is sooo tastey. Weird, in that I have no issues with scones or muffins. Periodically I look for a gluten free product and just haven’t seen one that looked appealing. I am just learning how to bake using gluten free and wheat free flours so the product has to be intriguing enough for me to try. Well, I just purchased your tasty Gluten Free Rolls Super Seeded Multi-Grain at Newcastle Safeway on Sunday 5/12/13. Toasted them and ate them with farm fresh butter and Tillamook cheddar cheeze for breakfast. EXCELLENT! These are a great “large slider” size for burgers, however, it’d be pretty cool to see these in the standard burger bun size. I have braces too and found them easy to bite into and eat. Definitely a soft bun. Now to see how they digest. Thanks!
Hi Rose, we’re so glad you found our Super Seeded Gluten Free Rolls. They ARE the perfect slider size. We actually do have Gluten Free Hamburger Buns now! Check them out here http://bit.ly/Ycn8vc Let us know what you think! Thanks!
Hello! Firstly, I am wondering if your gluten free breads are organic, as I don’t see organic ingredients listed for them on your website. I am also wondering if the gluten free breads are all free of GMO ingredients. Additionally, I am a Full Circle Farms home delivery member; I see that they sell some of your breads, but not the gluten free varieties. Is there any chance that Full Circle Farms will start offering your gluten free breads soon? Thanks!
Hello Cinde,
Our gluten free breads contain all natural, non-GMO ingredients, organic whenever possible. All of our breads, including our gluten free variety, are available for Full Circle Farms to order. We have had a few people write in saying they would like to purchase our gluten free bread with their delivery and we have passed those messages along to Full Circle, as we’ve done with your message. You can also contact them directly, telling them you would like to order it through them. Thanks so much for taking the time to write us.
love this bread have been buying it at Costco but they were out this week. Hope its back soon.
We’re glad to hear it! I’m sorry you weren’t able to get it last trip to Costco. All Northwest Costco locations will have our gluten free bread back in stock on May 18th! It’s also available at our Essential Baking Company Cafe locations, Fred Meyer, PCC, and Metropolitan Markets.
I discovered your gluten-free multigrain bread at the Warrenton, OR, Costco. We bought it twice –6 loaves each time–and now it’s gone! Will it return to this Costco? The price and the store location are ideal for those of us on a fixed income and who must remain gluten-free.
I am in love with the super seeded whole grain. Wow. Yummy.
I love your GF Super Seeded Multigrain Bread. Unfortunately Costco in Spokane no longer carries it. I have already sent a letter to them asking them to re-order it. Our Fred Meyer does carry a limited selection. I’m getting the word out to all of my celiac disease friends.
Deb, we’re so glad to hear that you love our Gluten Free Super Seeded Bread and thank you for sending a letter to your Costco asking them to re-order it. It’s now available for most Northwest grocery stores as a single pack to order. We should be getting Costco locations stocked back up by June. Until then check out Fred Meyer, PCC, Met Market and Whole Foods locations.
OMG! So excited to find a great gluten free bread. It is awesome. Would like to know the nutrient contents, is there any way to find out?
Hi Debbie! We are so glad you found it! Click here to link to Super Seeded Multigrain on our site to see the list of ingredients. 1 slice (41g) is 100 calories, 5g fat, 15g carbs, 5g fiber, 2g protein.
We are working on getting nutritionals for all our products up on our website soon.
Thank you so much for this delicious bread. I just have a few questions about labeling…. imagine that! I see that most of your products have the organic label. I do not see it on this bread and my main concern are products that use GMO’s. There is a commitment stated on your website about not using GMO’s I just would like to verify that they aren’t used in your gluten-free products. It is difficult to be a consumer these days, especially when looking for gluten-free/non GMO so please, please say it’s GMO free!
Yes, it is GMO free! We do not use any GMO ingredients in any of our products, including our gluten free bread. You bring up a great question and we will look at making that clearer on the packaging. Thanks for taking the time to write in.
I didn’t buy the bread when I first saw it at my costco in so cal since it didn’t state GMO free and a few ingredients looked suspect. So thank you for clearing that up. You should join the GMO alliance and get it on your package!! My 8 year old is celiac and I have probably baked 50 different bread recipes for her and all with mediocre reviews. She loves your bread so thank you!!!
Yeah! That’s so great to hear that your daughter loves our bread! We never use GMO ingredients in any of our products. There is an extensive process to go through in order to use the Non-GMO Project label on packaging. Stay tuned.
Sadly our Costco store in Medford, OR tells us that they aren’t carrying your bread anymore. I could have fell over!! They’ve no clue that they are missing an entire market of buyers. I’m writing to their headquarters to lament and complain (heavily). 🙁 Any chance I can order directly from your Seattle bakery? I’m in Southern Oregon. Please advise… hungry in Ashland. 🙁
Kendra …Thank you for your quick response 🙂 The Fred Meyer & (Costco) in Covington Washington, however I willing to go to the one in Kent …if they carry it NOW 🙂 (Did I tell you I LOVE your bread!) Thank You again! .. look forward to ALL NEW THINGS …GLUTEN FREE..maybe cookies … jam-filled shortbread or maybe lemon poppy seed scones ?? 🙂 Keep up the GOOD WORK :))
Thanks for yours! I love all of your smilie faces too! Thanks for the store locations. We are looking into it. Speaking of jam…I just had a sandwich with toasted Gluten Free Super Seeded Bread with strawberry jam and almond butter. It’s my favorite.
“THANK YOU!!! 🙂 ESSENTIAL BAKING COMPANY for making the “BEST” Gluten Free Bread!! I would almost say it’s better then regular bread however it’s been so-o long since I have been able to really enjoy (regular) bread without paid for it later that some may say that I’m being unfair! Like others found your bread at Costco…just trying and buying ONE (my mistake) having tried other Gluten Free Bread wasting money and tasted like CARDBOARD!..but the next time I was able to return to Costco they were OUT! :(( Check with customer service and they told which stores had some but each store when I got there had NONE..Very disappointing ! As I see from your Website Fred Meyer is to carry it ..mind does not HOWEVER I will be asking them TOO and very soon! THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK IN MAKE THE BEST GLUTEN FREE BREAD!…can you tell WE LOVE YOUR BREAD!! 🙂
We love getting response like this! Isn’t it great that you CAN buy more than one and stock up, thanks to it’s unique packaging? This bread has been flying off the shelves so our team has been working hard to get all the stores back fully stocked. Which Fred Meyer did you go to so we can look into that for you. Thank you for taking the time to let us know what you think! We appreciate it.
Your Super Seeded Multi-grain Gluten-Free bread is “Spectacular”. We’ve tried a great many brands over the past 20 year and yours is the “Absolute Winner”. Anxious to have our Costco Store in Medford, OR get another supply in. They were out of stock yesterday and so I’m guarding what’s left of this loaf. I am hoping our local Costco (Medford) will be bringing in more of all your Gluten-free Breads. Do you make Gluten-free cookies and other bake delights? THANK YOU!! Stellar Job!!
Having been diagnosed with celiac disease a few years ago, my search for a good gluten free bread actually got me a job as a baker in a dedicated gluten free bakery. Our breads were the best gluten-free bread I had ever had, and I’d tasted them all… Then a customer mentioned you guys, and I was skeptical. A friend had a loaf, and I hesitantly tried it and wept! This is bread! The texture, the taste the smell… I can go to the store and buy a loaf of bread! I can make a sandwich without it falling apart! I can eat it without toasting it! Do you know what that means? Peanut butter and jelly. I can eat peanut butter and jelly again! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Emily, thank you for sharing your journey with us. We are touched. Bread is such an important part of many of our lives. When we are suddenly told that we can’t have it, its devastating. We wish you many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in your future. Well keep making our gluten free bread to assure that’s possible.
I LOVE this bread! The main thing is that it tastes edible when it’s not toasted, which is unheard of in GF breads. The other #1 reason for me is that you don’t use potato starch, which makes it okay for me because I can’t have nightshades due to arthritis pain (potatoes, tomatoes and all peppers). The first time I tried it as a sample at Costco, I immediately texted all my fellow GF/DF/NF friends to tell them about it! The problem is that now I can’t seem to find it anywhere locally (Lake Stevens area), including Costco. Is it stocked with the other GF products at Haggen/Fred Meyer or is it with regular breads?
Another thought is that a friend of mine can’t do a lot of whole flax seeds. From what I understand, we don’t get much nutrition from whole flax seeds anyway because they tend to go through our system unaltered…if you know what I mean. Is there a possibility of using flax seed meal to keep the good Omega 3’s and using other kinds of seeds for flavor and crunch, like sunflower and pumpkin? Have you explored chia seed as an egg replacement for my egg-intolerant and/or vegan friends?
Anyway, thank you again for a wonderful, wonderful gluten-free, nightshade-free product. Please don’t ever add potato starch. I love it!
Rachael, thank you for writing! Not to worry, we are working on getting Pacific Northwest Costco, including Lake Stevens locations fully stocked with twin packs of Gluten Free Super Seeded Bread. You can also get our gluten free bread at Fred Meyer, PCC, Whole Foods, Metropolitan Market.
Chewing and biting into the whole flax seeds help release the amazing nutrition contained within them. As you bite into and chew your bread, you are getting healthy Omega-3 essential fatty acids, lignans, and fiber. So please, don’t swollow our bread whole 😉 I have a habit of picking up little seeds that fall off into my plate and bite into them for this reason. We have been doing lots of delicious experiements that could lead to other varieties. Stay tuned.
As I’ve seen one after another of friends and family develop digestive and/or autoimmune issues I decided to go gluten free. My first gluten free bread “find” was your super seeded bread at Costco (Woodinville). It is WONDERFUL! Unfortunately, when I went back to Costco, they were out of it so I bought Udi’s. ICK! Dry, crusty, crumbly tasteless. When I went back to Costco again (just for your bread) it was still gone, so I checked with customer service, and they said it was no longer an inventoried item – that it might have been a “trial” to see how it would sell. Please please please find a way to get it back in at Costco. I live closer to Stevens Pass so it’s not easy to make a trip into Bellevue, Seattle or the like. And, thank you for making such yummy bread!
Jessica, We are so thrilled that you found and like our gluten-free Super Seeded bread at Costco!
Due to the unexpected overnight demand, at this time we are only able to fully service a certain amount of Costcos. But fear not! We are working on ramping up production and estimate that we’ll be back in your Costco within 2-3 months. Thank you for being such a loyal consumer and for reaching out to us. Remember-You can also pick up our gluten free bread at all Fred Meyer locations as well as Whole Foods, PCC and Metropolitan Markets – if you are ever near any of those stores.
Can you make your bread using an alternative to cane sugar? Perhaps honey, maple syrup or agave nectar? I have a cane sugar intolerance as well as gluten and dairy. It would be nice to have something I could pick up rather than have to make everything myself. Thanks!
I just bought a 2 pack of the super seeded GF bread at my local Puyallup Costco yesterday. I just wanted to let you know that I love this bread so much. It is my new favorite!! It reminds me of my old favorite Paulsbo bread that I loved when I was a kid. Thank you!! I really hope that Costco keeps carrying it since they change their items so often and we don’t have a PCC or whole foods in Pierce County.
Hi Bridget, thanks for letting us know! You can always write a customer note at your local Costco to let them know that you’d like to keep purchasing it there at that location.
Found your bread at Costco about 1 or 2 months ago and have been loving it since. We have been trying all kinds of gluten free bread and your Super Seeded Multigrain bread is so wonderful! The best I have found! Great texture, doesn’t mold too quickly, love the seeds and tastes good too! I am so excited to have visited your website and can’t wait to look for your other varieties at my local Fred Meyer or Whole Foods. Thank you for making such a great product!
Does the Fred Maayer’s in Woodburn have any of your gluten free bread ?
Laureant Gallipeop
Yes they do. All Fred Meyer locations are carring our gluten free bread.
The super seeded bread is so yummy, but kind of hard to digest. Does Costco carry the kind that doesn’t have all the seeds on the crust? It’s nice to have another SOFT gluten free option, my husband loves it.
Costco currently carries only the Super Seeded Multigrain. Sunny Seeded White and Cinnamon Raisin are available at our cafe locations, Fred Meyer, PCC, Whole Foods Metropolitan Market to name some.
Best GF bread I have ever eaten! And I’ve tried several brands since being diagnosed with celiac four years ago. Thanks so much for something that tastes like real bread. I have recommended it to several friends since it arrived in our Costco here in Anchorage, Alaska, a few weeks ago. Can’t wait to see if your cinnamon raisin shows up. Sounds wonderful!
My wife found your gluten free bread at Costco last weekend. I suffer from Celiac Disease and miss a good tasting bread. My first P & J in two years that tasted like a P & J should! A tuna fish sandwich followed later in this week. I think I am in heaven. Thank you!
Richard, we are so glad to hear that you are eating sandwiches again. Thanks for giving our gluten free bread a try!
Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!! no other GF bread compares!!! I am complete again:) I saw this in Costco AND THEN again in Fred’s and I’m so happy:)
You’re welcome, you’re welcome, you’re welcome! We are honored that we complete you. 🙂
I just bought your Super seeded multi-grain bread at Costo in Nampa, Idaho. It is delicious and afforable. Hopefully Costco will keep it on their shelves. Are other gluten free products available or carried at a store in the Boise, Nampa, Caldwell area?
I tried it–meh. It did taste much better toasted with butter so it may be a good deal for people with celiac (sp?). Since I don’t have stay away from gluten, I’m sticking with Dave’s Killer Bread— I don’t need any butter with that.
Hi Beth, Thanks for giving it a try.
When will you be carrying this bread in Costcos in Wisconsin?
Hi Dyana, Costco chooses which locations they will carry certain products in. Have you been able to try it yet?
Just wanted you to know that I discovered your GF bread at Costco last week and … WOW! Best one I’ve found so far. Best thing since sliced … well … you know. I truly hope they continue to carry your product.
Hi Maria, I guess we could say that it’s sliced bread reinvented. We LOVE that you like it and appreciate you taking the time to tell us so.
We bought a loaf of your GF bread at Costco a few days ago. We don’t normally buy GF bread because we don’t like the taste of it, so we just go without any bread. The price was right so we decided to try your bread (we refuse to pay $6.00 for one small loaf of bread) We were VERY surprised that this bread actually tasted good. It does taste best toasted, like most GF breads but it is definitely the BEST tasting bread we’ve tried. We loved it so much we went back to Costco and purchased 3 more loaves. A great product at a reasonable price….Thank you!
I saw the super-seeded version at Costco and once AGAIN tried a gluten-free bread hoping for something that works. I’ve tried everything, and just don’t care for the high starch carbs and crumbly texture…. AND high price of other breads. This is to die for!! I haven’t had a real sandwich in years and I’ve had one a day this week. The feel, texture, taste, and function of this bread works both cold and toasted. I immediately went to the Customer service desk at Costco and asked them to please keep this one. They have a tendency to introduce great products and then discontinue. I’ve “liked” you on Facebook and Pinned you on Pinterest! Anyway. I never do reviews but had to say thank you!
Debbie, thank you so much for taking the time to tell Costco that you like our bread, pinning us on Pinterest and “liking” us on Facebook. We really do appreciate hearing feedback. We wish you many happy days of sandwich making. Enjoy!
I too just discovered the GF bread at Costco in anchorage, ak. I’m in love!! Finally I can have sandwiches and French toast without the gluten!! Thank you!!
That’s great news K.C. You’re welcome and thanks for letting us know that you like it!
Bought your Super seeded GF bread at Costco in Anchorage Alaska. It is awesome. I was able to enjoy a sandwich for the 1st time in many years. It was out of stock this week. Do you know if Costco will continue to carry it here? Do any other stores carry it in Alaska?
We aren’t sure at this point which Costcos will carry the gluten free bread. If you have seen it at your local store, and would like to continue to purchase it there, you can ask to fill out a comment card or request them to order it for the future. We are so glad to hear that you were able to enjoy it.
Tricities, Washington Costco said they have not reordered but encouraged me to fill out a comment card to let them know we want it. Hoping it comes back to Costco!!!!
Hi Kurt, the best thing to do is to fill out a comment card, like you did. It’s available for Costcos in the Northwest to order. Thanks for filling one out!
Right now the only place you can get it in Alaska is Costco and they WILL continue to carry it. They were just out this week because they sold out of it! I’m happy to say that you will be able to continue to enjoy eating sandwiches.
I live about 50 miles from Indianapolis, IN and about 45 miles away from Bloomington, IN or 35 miles form Avon, IN. Do you know if you have your bread in any store near by? I would love to try some.
Hello Mollie – over there in Indianapolis! We are impressed that you found us over here in Seattle. We currently don’t have bread near you, but hope to eventually offer the option to order on-line. Be sure to subscribe to our blog, follow us on Facebook or Twitter @Essentialbaking to find out our latest. Thanks so much for reaching out to us.
My fiancee came home with this bread for me one day. I was skeptical but no more! I’ve tried so many GF breads and this is hands down the best I’ve had. I don’t even have to toast it to make it palatable, which says a lot! This is my new brand for all GF bread needs. Thanks for giving us GF folks some attention!
Christina,

Love it! Found your gluten free bread multi grain bread at Haggens in Bellingham. Really enjoy it. I live in Kirkland and went to Top foods in Woodinville knowing Haggens owns them, I think…. And it was not available there. Encourage them! I am also excited to try the raisin one as well!
Hi Jen,
Thanks for the comment. We are so glad that you found it. We’ve shared your comment with our team. You can also find our Gluten Free Bread at Whole Foods, PCC, Metropolitan Market, Town and Country Markets.
Was not able to find your bread in a store close to me. Would love to have it delivered with my full circle box.
Hi Brigittel, we are hoping to get our gluten free bread in more stores as more people find out about it and are able to give it a taste. Thanks so much for your comment. I’ve shared it with the rest of our team. You can always request that your local store or food delivery service carry it for you as well.
We’ve passed along your comment to Full Circle.
Is there anywhere in Canada, specifically Vancouver, where I can buy your GF bread?
Hi Kate, our gluten free bread isn’t available in Canada at this point. We’ll keep you posted on our blog, Facebook and Twitter if that changes. Thanks!
I just bought a loaf of the white your at the Metropolitan Market in Kirkland. Toasted for a chicken salad sandwich, then paired with a cup of tomato soup , it made a delicious and perfect meal for a rainy night.
This is some of the best GF bread I’ve ever had, and I hope you decide to make a GF rosemary dinner roll, or even a baguette or ciabatta.
There’s a new Essential Baking Cafe in Bellevue, and now that I know you make GF bread, I will stop by. I had assumed that there would be nothing for me there, and was thrilled to see your GF bread at the market! Thanks! keep it coming …
Katie, YUM! That sounds delicious. Did you take a picture of it? We seem to do a lot of that around here. We love to hear that you think it’s some of the best gluten free bread you’ve had! Thanks for sharing your ideas and we’ll pass them along to the rest of our team.
We’re glad you discovered our new Bellevue Cafe in the University Bookstore. Be sure to ask at the University Bookstore for a coupon to the Bellevue Café.
Hello EBC!
I am very glad that you all now offer GF bread options. I literally just found out, so I haven’t tried any of them yet. How did I miss that?!?!? I’ve been buying your gluten varieties for a long time and I am a big fan, but my mom is GF, and is always looking for something that tastes good. I make my own GF bread and sweet breads for her, but in the event that I’m not available or something runs out, I’m glad that she has the option of pulling your bread out of the freezer. One thing is that although I live near a Metropolitan Market, when will you start offering your breads on FCF (Full Circle Farms)? Just curious because myself and my parents receive weekly deliveries, and that would make things a whole lot easier since I am always on the go, and my parents rarely make it to the end of town where MM is.
Thanks!
Marcella Tomlin
Hi Marcella,
Thanks for writting to us. We’ve passed your message along to our friends at Full Cicle Farms, who as you know already carry many of our breads.
Our gluten free bread does really well in your refrigerator for a week, once it’s opened. It can stay well on the counter or in your pantry for 90 day before it’s opened. You can always freeze it, once it’s opened, if your Mom won’t be over for a while.
So tentatively excited that there was a NEW gluten free bread in town AND especially that it is from ESSENTIAL BAKERY.
Then the letdown. Yet another gluten free bread that relies on EGGS (another MAJOR allergen, and thus makes it yet another gluten free bread that I cannot eat.
🙁
Lora, thank you for this feedback. We are aware of the need for a gluten free bread without eggs and it helps for people to let us know that they have a need for such a product. We’ve started out our Gluten Free line with the release of the first three breads. We hope to have more Gluten Free products available soon. I have shared your comment with the rest of our team.
I too have no egg along with dairy soy nuts and GF. finding products are difficult let alone anything that might taste good. i’d be very interested if you came up with a bread minus all of those. Thanks.
Thanks for your message. We’ve definately taken note of this. The demand for our Super Seeded Multigrain has been very high. We hope to be able to accomidate in the future.
I am also allergic to eggs and cannot have yeast, so I was disappointed that, once again, I could not have another commercial gf product. my husband loved the bread. so that’s the silver lining.
I love the multi-seed bread and the sunny seeded white bread. Both have great texture, toast well, hold up well, and I especially like that they don’t have a million carbs, making it relatively diabetic friendly as well as allergen friendly. I had bought my first loaf at Central Market, but am glad that you carry it at PCC and Metropolitan Market, which are both close to my house (I had checked Whole Foods but was sad it wasn’t there).
I just purchased your Gluten Free Bread at PCC today (Cinamon/Raisin & Super Seeded) and it is WONDERFUL:-) So soft and yummy!!!!! Thank You!!!
Thanks for taking the time to post your comment. We’re so glad you like it!!
Hi, We’re very excited that our favorite bakery now has GF bread. However, it seems to me that you could use less sugar in the recipe. It seems overly sweet to me. That’s the complaint I had about Udi’s (among other things). I’m hoping that that level of sugar is not a necessary component of the baking process.
Thank you
We are so happy to hear that Elena and thank you for the feedback. Which variety are you refering to? Some of that sugar is actually from pear juice. Our Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin has nearly half the amount of sugar than the brand you mentioned’s Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin does. We have been working hard to make sure our gluten free bread is safe for those with food allergies and sensitivities, and is not only nutritious but delicious.
I am not the person who originally posted, but I wanted to comment on the sweetness of the bread. I have only tried the Super Seeded Multi-Grain bread, and I am extremely excited about the product. It is better than any other packaged gluten free bread I have tried! I do find it to be a little on the sweet side, though. It is fine when making toast for breakfast, but seems a little sweet for a sandwich or other savory taste need.
Thanks Lori,
We also have a Sunny Seeded White, a Seeded Cinnamon Raisin, Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns. We hope to come out with a new variety of gluten free bread soon. We are always experimenting.
“Honey, I want to eat this whole loaf right now.” My husband’s first comment as we tried the Super-seeded loaf. Thank you for an excellent grain bread that tastes great and is healthy!
Hannah, thanks for the fabulous comment! We can relate. Our kids are asking for the Super Seeded in their lunch box now, even the ones who can eat gluten!
I was so excited to see your bread at Central Market in Mill Creek! I am allergic to corn, dairy, and soy in addition to wheat, which limits me even further since most GF breads have one of those. I tried the Super Seeded Multi-Grain. I love it! I plan on trying the other two varieties soon. Thanks so much for making it.
Brenda, thanks so much for commenting because we LOVE hearing stories like this! You are a perfect example of why we created this product. We are so glad you like it.
Hi EBC,
I was so excited to hear about your new GF breads. We eat GF and my wife is adjunct faculty at the Bastyr Clinic so she is always excited about recommending new breads to patients. The taste is very good especially the SuperSeeded but more importantly, the bread holds together very well unlike Udi’s which often crumbles. My only comment is on the packaging. Besides a wasteful double plasic wrap, it is very difficult to open the inside layer and then extract the bread without damaging it. Overall great work.
We are glad to hear you and your wife are liking the Super Seeded bread! That says alot considering her line of work. I’m sure she’s tried every allergen friendly bread available.
We’re glad you asked about our packaging. The purpose of the pouch the bread comes in is to keep the bread fresh, without the need for freezing, or the need for nasty preservatives or chemicals that we are so much against. The outer plastic bag around the pouch is there for you to store the bread and pouch in once it’s opened.
To open the bread, remove the pouch from the plastic bag and put the bread flat side up/upside down. Cut three sides- one short and two long, and fold over the flap to remove the slices you want. Then slip the pouch, and remaining bread, back into the plastic outer bag, and store it in the fridge. We’ll get a post up on our blog with pictures of this tip for further claification.
Thanks so much for your comment!
Hey Essential Baking! I just found your delicious new Gluten Free Bread! I was so happy to see that it is made in a dedicated facility and that it is Soy Free too! I am sure others will also enjoy that it is tree, peanut and dairy free too! I bought 2 loaves at Town & Country Markets on Bainbridge Island.
I also just posted a very quick review on my blog.
Thank you!
Lisa
Gluten Free Foodies
Lisa, we are so glad that you found our brand new gluten free bread at Town & Country Markets! This bread was developed with a lot of heart. Thank you so much for the post. You have a great blog!
I bought a loaf on Saturday at PCC. Gut bomb. I was crushed…. I’ll stick to Udi’s or Canyon Bakehouse.
Thank you for your feedback and we are so sorry that you were disappointed. We appreciate your honesty because we are continuing to work on perfecting the formulas, therefore getting feedback is key. You may have seen us doing taste tests with the Super Seeded at our cafes. Can you tell me which loaf it was, Sunny Seeded White, Super Seeded Multigrain, or Seeded Cinnamon?
Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Thank you and way to go Essential!!!
