This French-language documentry is about a restaurateur, Michel Bras, as he prepares to hand his restaurant over to his son Sébastien. They work together making dishes filled with unusual ingredients, such as milk curd, butternut spaghetti, blackberry jelly, and nasturtium, where taste and presentation carry equal weight. But will Michel end up leaving the restaurant for his son to run, or will he be unable to step away?

My most memorable meal is the one I proposed to my wife over. Very fancy food at over $150 a plate and all we got was a small bite of some sort of meat. I remember it most because she said, “Yes!” The cheeseburgers afterwards were the best I have ever tasted.
The taste of the peanut-butter duck still lingers in my mind. This was the first time I tried duck. The meat was tender and seemed to melt. It was smooth and made me want to burst into song. There was a crackling fire and harps. It was my treat to myself.
Yeah, another meal that is memorable because of the FOOD, not the event! thanks!
I’ve been lucky to have my most memorable meal on an annual basis. For the past 7 years on my birthday we have been in Maui. Along with three other couples we reserve the chef’s table at The Lahaina Grill. It’s a private room to the right of the entry with a big round table that has a magnificent glass centerpiece. Upon arrival we are always welcomed back and treated to five star service, never wanting for anything or feeling hovered over.
The food is a close to perfection both in quality, presentation and taste. Whether it’s the stack of caprese (buffalo mozerella and tomatoes) or the seared ahi done to perfection. I’d have to admit that my favorite part of the meal is the flourless chocolate cake that arrives with a single candle in it to commemorate my birthday.
Nothing like good friends, good food in a paradise. Keeps me coming back for more.
My most memorable meal was March 29, 1980. Steve and I had been married that afternoon – we’d had an early wedding party breakfast and no lunch since we were busy taking pictures. Back in those days, wedding reception foods consisted of cake and punch and coffee and all either of us ate was that one bite of cake. Six hours later we arrived at our honeymoon hotel – it was ten p.m. by then – and we sat down to dinner that, according to our memories, was the most luscious thing ever…but all I remember were the baby glazed carrots!
My most memorable meal was dinner out on the last trip my husband and I took before kids. We picked a place that cost more per plate than we usually pay per meal as a treat for ourselves and then went with our server’s suggestions for everything (drinks, appetizer, entree, and desert). Everything tasted amazing and it was fun to just relax with the husband.
My most memorable meal would be my wedding meal! We had an exquisite wedding and the food was divine. Unfortunately, I was too excited to eat! Luckily, we had leftover cupcakes to bring home! 🙂
So many to choose from. I remember The Post House in New York. It was probably 30 years ago and I still remember the poached pears for dessert. They were so beautiful. I also remember the cuteset little man that worked there. At one point I wasn’t feeling too well and wanted to get some fresh air. He stood outside with me to make sure I was ok. It’s not just about the food. The food can be great but if the service is bad, then forget about it. I love having my water glass always full, beautiful presentation, beautiful decor, pleasant employees, a great view, good company.
First time I took my duck’s eggs and made quiche. Didn’t want to take anything away from tasting the eggs, so I blended 4 duck eggs, one cup milk (any % fat), one medium sweet onion, a bunch of spinach cut into bite size pieces and 1/8 cup parmesan cheese and put into whole wheat crust. All organic and mostly local ingredients. Cooked very long, almost an hour in 350 degree oven. Came out smooth and rich and fluffy. Served it with hard apple cider. After that, every potluck I went to, I brough duck egg quiche.
